Good News from Punta Allen
Yesterday, August 22, some of the guides hacked their way down the back road and made it across to Punta Allen. Considering that Hurricane Dean was a Catagory 5 when it hit, things looked good. The town is still standing. Once again the town was sparred. There was some storm surge, but not the 18 – 20 feet that we were worried about. It seems to have been only 8 – 10 feet, making its way into most homes. What used to be the beach is now spread throughout town. There is plenty of clean up, but at least there are homes to go back to.
Thanks for your emails and calls. We plan to open on schedule in late October.
